Hey Everyone, The end of the year is here. What a great year! I always enjoy getting together as a club and spending time with people that like the same things I do. We have had some great trips this year, some amazing meetings, and a ton of new folks joined the club. I look forward to the coming year and the exciting things coming. This month’s meeting is our annual Christmas Dinner. This year we are having it at the Cache County Fairgrounds Event Center on Thursday December 9th at 7 PM. We are providing meet and drinks so please bring a potluck item. Also bring a gift if you can, it should be a rock, slab, or rock related item, and please don’t spend money. Just share what you have. Hope to see you all there. The annual Membership drive is under way and your renewal membership forms need turned in ASAP. We have new membership cards going out to everyone this year as they pay their dues. We are going to be using the cards for multiple things this year including going on trips and a few other activities we plan to have. Because we have so many members and are having a problem with them getting the emails and the newsletters, starting in January only people that have paid their renewal dues for 2022, new members, and vendors will be receiving the newsletter. We have had multiple requests to be removed from the old email list by people that are no longer a part of the club, so this is the most efficient way for us to clean up the list. Be sure to get that membership turned in. If you renew at the meeting this month you will be entered into a drawing for a new tumbler. The winner will be drawn at the meeting. We will be starting to prepare for the 2022 rock show this month. The show will be May 19-21 with set up happening on the 18th. Should be a great show this year. I hope everyone is doing well and I hope you all have a great Christmas season. Thanks for all you do.

Merry Christmas everyone, December is here and this month’s meeting will be our annual dinner. Hope you all can make it to celebrate the end of a fun year with the rock club. So many things have happened and as I look back I have pride in this club of ours. It’s almost hard to count the achievements you all have made. The growth and new friendships are incredible. As I look back specifically at this year’s successes I remember a few of the topics we discussed like “How to’s” on Mark Adam’s gem trees and rock stabilizing. Programs on aquamarine, emeralds and tiger eye. Rock Jeopardy with all our dumb dumbs and smarties, the club show, club picnic, the elections and of course field trips. So much has happened and the year has been a great success!!! I am also excited for the year to come with all it’s new adventures. So happy to be a part of it with all of you!! See you all at the dinner. Remember a small rock exchange gift and a pot luck item. We will also be having a membership renewal drive and will be giving away a rock tumbler. Be sure and pay your 2022 dues for a chance to win.

Happy holidays everyone! We had our first trip meeting and have come up with some good ideas for the new year, we should have the list our in January so everyone can plan their year. I would like to thank everyone who helped with the trips this year, leading them or just helping out. We have a great club, we had some really good ones : Wendover, Woodruff, Salina, Dubois, Grouse Creek, Eureka, Carey, Milford, Yellowcat, McDermitt, and Topaz. This was a good year for new material as well, I know I have material that has been on my list to play with for quite some time, and it hasn’t been disappointing. Thank you again everyone
