Newspaper rock near Needles Canyonlands Utah. This was a fun trip and a large collection of petroglyphs. There are lots of rocks that we just look at and allow others to enjoy as well.
I bring this up because as we looked at these petroglyphs wondering what was being communicated it came to me. How are we communicating with our members and each other. I hope the website becomes a place where we can share information and get to know each other better with trips and meetings.
I added a new page concerning privacy. We are in a digital age and you may argue an AI age. That said we need to protect ourselves from the crimes that result from individuals using technology in the wrong way.

Charles also known as Chuck has been a member of the club for about 3 years. His favorite rocks are Geodes, Wonderstone, Fossils and Turquoise.
He collected some rocks when he was a young child but his love for rockhounding started about 5 or 6 years ago. When a friend took him and his wife out in the Nevada deserts to look. The year that he jooined the club he had gone to Devil’s Playground and a few other places. He had started to get a bit nervous about going out alone, that’s when he found the club and joined.
Some of his favorite memories had been all of the friends and community he gained when in the club. He also loved going on the trips with everyone. He also absolutely loved running the Raffle Table at the rock shows.
Thanks Chuck

Before joining the club I didn’t know what rocks were leavearits. The club has helped me determine which rocks need to be left right there.

Fossilized pop doesn’t smell as bad as you would think.
